The 9th house in astrology is the house of meaning and travel: long journeys, higher education, philosophy, beliefs and the search for meaning. Its sign and any planets in it show how these themes play out in your life.
What the 9th house means
The 9th house widens your world. It covers long journeys, study beyond school, and the beliefs that give your life meaning. Where the 3rd house collects facts, the 9th house asks what they add up to.
Its sign describes how you search for truth — through adventure, study, faith or debate. Planets here make travel, teaching or a strong personal philosophy central.

An empty 9th house does not mean you will not travel or study. Look at the sign on the cusp and where Jupiter sits.
